With all due respect, there are a few errors in this website that distract from an otherwise fascinating story. First, there is no country Holland, that's just the name of a region within the country that is the Netherlands. Second, Rotterdam wasn't bombed on May the 10th 1940, that happened on May the 14th, 4 days after the German invasion which in no way can be compared to 9/11. Third, when talking about ancient Fokkers, two out of the three pictures are of post-war Tiger Moths which were no fighter planes. Fourth, the SD was not German military police but a "secret police" of the SS. Of course the latter two are small details, but I really feel the first two are serious errors.

I work at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History in Jackson and we are currently researching the Dutch fliers who trained here during the war. I'm very impressed with the information you have here. It's good to know that there are others working on this important and untold story!
It is very good to know that warbirds are preserved, and even better to know that uncle Bodo, that is what I always called him, flew one of the last ones. He may have flown ship 3069 as well? He was a flight instructor after all.

WOW, owning and flying the last of the 24 Beechcraft AT-11's used by the RNMFS is very special indeed!! And what a coincidence that yours is serial number 42-3069, while the one my Dad flew during WW-II was serial number 42-3070! He would have LOVED to see, and fly, yours!
Maybe, one day, I can do that in his stead?? CT is not too far from NC...
I ran across this site while trying to find information on my airplane. I own and fly the last of the 24 Beechcraft AT-11's used by the RNMFS. Mine is serial number 42-3069. I was blown away when I saw the pictures here of serial number 42-3070!
